Summer is officially over…

Summer is officially over...

The Equinox is soon to be upon us. In other words, in a few days, summer is officially over. Gone will be the days of beautiful, gleaming sunlight, and hello dreary, cloudy rainy days. People rush back from their holidays, to start the new school and work year, with suitcases plastered with those custom stickers, which remind them of the sunny destinations they enjoyed only a few days ago. Everyone switches to winter. Gone are the shorts, hello winter jackets, goodbye flip flops, hello snow boots.

While mulling over the death of Summer 2010, I came across this blog, ‘Ten Things to do before summer is over.’ Wow, I have not enjoyed summer. The blog states that ‘eating ice cream for dinner,’ ‘calling in sick for work,’ and eating corn on the cob are things to do to enjoy summer. Apart from the third one, I don’t think I’ve done any of these things. I guess for summer I never intended to stuff myself silly on ice cream, and watch things explode. But it goes to show that summer is beautiful, and we can enjoy it in many ways, and the article made me chuckle, and with the last days of summer impending, I think I will call in sick tomorrow, buy a large tub of Ben and Jerrys, read some rubbish magazines, and watch some things explode. I suppose I won’t be doing the last three things on the blog, but what I do know, is that before the long and dreary autumn and winter is upon us, I want to enjoy before fall falls!
